ENGINEERED CHAINS are used as traction elements in heavy-duty conveyors of cane sugar mills, palm oil mills, mines, and other industries. Instead of lubricant oil, conveyor chains are often immersed in dust, mud, fibers, or liquids that are normal constituents of the carried product. By nature, conveyors may be long, and the weight of the chains becomes a significant part of the total mass in movement. Therefore, engineering chains should be strong, light, and inexpensive at the same time.
